Origins
Origins is a reflection on family history and life during a time of conflict. The project is a sequence of prints created while viewing WWII documentary films and footage from current locations of turmoil: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Egypt. The entire series of prints is created from a single zinc plate. Each print is a unique state, printed chine-collé on a page from a 1945 Britain road atlas. The atlas pages have been printed upon sequentially, beginning with the title page and continuing on each odd numbered page face. This atlas belonged Donald Upchurch, one he used during his deployment to Britain during WWII. Upchurch is the grandfather of Ben Pond.
